Learning Objectives
Identify the MIS techniques that are utilized by various spine surgeons around the state of Texas. | Determine what artificial intelligence and augmented reality may be appropriate to enhance your spine surgery practice. | Determine how recent advances in unilateraly biportal endoscopic approaches and advanced navigation and robotics may enhance your current practice. | Describe a basic approach to management of TBI patients. | Interpret the results of recent therapeutic clinical trials in severe TBI. | Discuss current and future trials in TBI. | Identify cases that can benefit from robotic guidance for spine surgeries. | Review which robotic spine surgery platforms are available. | Determine the cost/benefit analysi of beginning a robotic spine surgery system. | Debate advantages and challenges of brain-computer interfaces for severe motor deficits. | Describe immunotherapies for glioblastoma. | Summarize the results of major immunotherapy trials for glioblastoma to date. | Determine how prior authorization law and rule changes in Austin and Washington will change prior authorizations for surgical care. | Identify state and federal public policy initiatives related to the migration of care from the inpatient to outpatient setting and determine what, if any, changes to my practice are necessary to meet potential new outpatient mandates. | Determine how speech for individuals with paralysis can be restored through the use of deep-learning models and a natural-language model. | Evaluate patients with metastatic disease in a systematic manner. | Determine the effectiveness and indications of various treatment options available in treating patients with metastatic spinal tumors. | Apply these principles to the care of individual patients to optimize their outcome. | Determine whether there is a clear benefit for surgical evacuation related to ICH. | Determine how modulated aspiration can improve clot ingestion with aspiration alone. | Review preliminary results from modulated aspiration studies to determine their impact on first pass effect.
