How Many Editions Per Year are published?: There are 10 editions per year (there is no February or August edition)

 

What is the circulation of each edition of Bee Local Magazine?

Bee Local Magazine is hand delivered to 19000 homes each edition

 

Why don't I get a copy where I live?

19000 copies is one of the largest circulations of a small community magazine in the country.  However Leighton Buzzard alone has over 46000 households and we cannot print and deliver to them all.

 

I'm an advertiser can you send me a copy to see my advert in print?

The priority is to get magazines to your potential customers.  19000 copies is a lot but they are all delivered to homes.  You can read the current edition online at any time.  Please email buzz@beelocalmagazine.co.uk and if we have a copy available we can post it to you.

 

What are the Deadlines and Distribution Dates?:

Copy is the first Thursday of the month before the edition.

Please note it takes up to 14 days from distribution date to deliver all 19000 magazines. If your event is in the first part of the month please consider an earlier edition to reach the maximum number of households.

What size is Bee Local Magazine?

Bee Local is A5 full colour

What format should my artwork be?
Your artwork needs to be provided as a jpeg or pdf with a high resolution suitable for print 300dpi or greater. Colours need to be set to CMYK. We do not accept Word or Publisher documents

What size should my advert be?

The sizes are shown on the image at the top of the page.  Full page adverts are A5 and need to have a 3mm bleed added.

If you do not have artwork we can provide a design service for £27.50+vat
Design is free with a booking of 3 or more editions where terms and conditions have been met.

Can I be invoiced per edition?
Discounts apply to multi edition bookings for payment upfront. You are welcome to book single editions as they are produced. Simply ensure you have booked and paid before each of the copy deadlines shown above.

What is Social Media Booster
We will use your advert artwork to create a social media post to share on the Bee Local Magazine Facebook page and boost it for 5 days within the period of the edition you have booked.  

What is Website Editorial
We will write an interesting editorial on a topic related to your business and include links to your own website to increase traffic and engagement within the period the the edition you have booked.

Can I email/ring you to negotiate a different price? 

The prices and discounts shown are not negotiable

Do you give charity discount?

Do not use this form to book if you wish to claim charity discount or vat exemption - refunds will not be made once a booking is completed.  Contact buzz@beelocalmagazine.co.uk to make your booking.

We offer an additional 5% off the displayed rates for registered charities. VAT is not applicable to charity advertising provided that the information is provided correctly at the time of booking. Do you accept local news

Bee Local is not a newspaper and news is often out of date by the time of publication for this reason we do not publish news items

What's On= 50 words OR a poster. Due to the volume of free requests any free inclusion will be budget buster size.  You must have the rights to use the image and it must not require credit to a 3rd party. Inclusion is not guaranteed. Guaranteed space or larger sizes please book an advert.

 

Terms and Conditions of Booking

Definitions and Acceptance of Terms and Conditions: This agreement is between Andrena Carden-White trading as Bee Local Magazine and Bee Local Directory) known throughout these terms and conditions as Bee Local and any associated publications and you known herein as The Advertiser.

By placing an order for an advertisement The Advertiser accepts and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full.

 

Content and Delivery of Advertisement

Any copy, artwork, editorial or material to be published must be submitted on or before the copy deadlines which will be confirmed via email on request.  Failure to supply copy before the deadline may result in the advertisement not being printed and payment still being applicable in accordance with our cancellation terms specified herein.  If an advertisement is not published solely due to an error on the part of Bee Local the advert will be run in the next available publication unless the advert supplied or designed contains a specific date which cannot be changed, in this instance only, the original booking will be cancelled and The Advertiser shall be entitled to a full refund if The Advertiser has paid in advance and in full for the advertisement. This shall be The Advertiser’s sole remedy for failure to publish the advertisement. In no circumstances will the total liability of Bee Local for any error or omission exceed the charge for the advertisement in question.

 

Proof Approval

Artwork submitted by The Advertiser will be deemed approved for inclusion and no further proof or checks will be provided.  Artwork provided by Bee Local requires written approval before inclusion.  It is The Advertiser’s responsibility to ensure that approval or corrections are given in a timely manner before the copy deadline.  Failure to provide approval will result in the advert being omitted from the publication.  In accordance with our cancellation terms full payment will be due where a failure to provide approval of the proof leads to non-insertion.   Provided full payment is made Bee Local shall, at its own discretion, publish the advertisement at no additional cost to The Advertiser in the next available edition.  Bee Local will not be held responsible for any errors or omissions once approval has been given. Bee Local shall not be responsible for repetition of errors and it is The Advertiser’s responsibility to inform Bee Local of any errors and provide any necessary assistance to Bee Local to prevent a repeat of the error.  

 

Artwork

Artwork needs to be of a high resolution at least 300dpi.  All colour should be CMYK.  Artwork can be submitted as pdf, jpeg, tiff or eps.  If an advertisement is not supplied at the exact size for the advert booked, Bee Local reserve the right to resize, rescale and/or crop in order to achieve a fit.  

 

Colour

Please note that we cannot guarantee exact colour matches due to the print process.  All colours supplied as RGB need to be converted to CMYK this may cause colours to change.  Bee Local does not accept advertisements made in Word or Powerpoint.  No responsibility will be taken by Bee Local for artwork submitted in the wrong formats. All information supplied in connection with the advertisement or copy must be accurate, legal, truthful, decent and not misleading. Where any living person whose name or image (in whole or part) is contained with the advertisement, consent must have been obtained.

 

Advertisements must not infringe a third party’s rights including any person’s intellectual property rights, the Trade Descriptions Act 1958, the Business Advertisements (Disclosure) Order 1977, the British Code of Advertising Practice and all other codes under the general supervision of the Advertising Standards Authority see www.asa.org.uk and GDPR.  The advertisement will not be prejudicial to the image or reputation of Bee Local.  Where the advertiser is an advertising agency or media buyer, the advertiser guarantees that it is authorised by the advertiser of a product or service to place the advertisement. The advertising agency or media buyer and the advertiser will compensate Bee Local for any claim made by such advertiser against Bee Local.

 

Payment

All advertising is to be paid in full within 7 days of receipt of our invoice.  Failure to pay may result in withdrawal of the advertisement from future publications.  The Advertiser will remain responsible for any outstanding charges.  Invoices must be paid in agreement with these terms. Interest and compensation will be charged at the rate specified in the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.  It is the responsibility of The Advertiser to ensure that Bee Local is informed of any changes to contact details that would result in a failure to receive our invoice or to contact The Advertiser regarding payment.  Bee Local does not accept any obligation to provide a copy of any edition of Bee Local to The Advertiser.   Provision of a copy is at Bee Local’s discretion and subject to availability of surplus copies and other considerations, including postage.  The Advertiser cannot withhold payment due to no receipt of a copy of Bee Local

 

Cancellation Terms

If cancellation is 7 days or less prior to copy deadline full payment is due. In addition where the design of the advertisement has been completed by us and approved by The Advertiser a design administration fee of £35 is applicable or £60 if The Advertiser would like to obtain full rights to the advertisement.  Where discounts have been applied for multiple advertisement bookings these are calculated on the total number of advertisements booked, any subsequent cancellations or changes to the of number of adverts placed and/or number of publications will void the discount and the full amount for each advertisement will be due based on the current published rate card.

 

Breach of Service

Bee Local takes the safety of our readers and the delivery of good service seriously. Bee Local has a reputation of sharing trusted services. Where we receive complaints from readers about The Advertiser's service, breaches of trading or advertising standards, threatening or abusive behaviour, fradulent or criminal behaviour, coercian or intimidation we will make our best endeavours to ensure accuracy of the information but reserve the right to cancel adverts and refund relevant advance payment if The Advertiser is deemed to be damaging the reputation of Bee Local.

 

Your Privacy

Certain information is required to be collected in order to deliver the contract formed between The Advertiser and Bee Local.  The information required is limited to the contact details of the person booking the advert and the business details, whether sole trader or other legal entity eg. Limited Company in order to process invoices.  This will include names, business names, postal address, email address and contact telephone numbers.  Details supplied are typically received via email which is password protected and then stored on 3rd party accounting software, which is password protected and GDPR compliant.  Payment is processed via BACS, Go Cardless, or Stripe and therefore no details are held by Bee Local directly.  Bee Local is required by law to retain records for 6 years after which time if there are no further transactions of business the record will be deleted.  Access to the records are only by authorised users eg. registered accountant or HMRC or other government bodies who require it by law.  Your details are not shared with any 3rd parties.  You will not be contacted except in the delivery of the contracted services or unless explicit consent has been given to do so.
