The mission of Mountain Friends Camp is to provide a camp experience grounded in the Quaker values of peace, community, simplicity, integrity, equality and stewardship for a diverse community of young people and adults. At camp we focus on community, nature, creativity and Quaker values.
As a Quaker summer camp we expect all counselors to put the needs of campers and the community first. You will have a huge amount of fun during your week at camp, and a lot will be asked of you. Please reflect on what it takes to create a community based around Quaker testimonies and seeing the good or the "Light" in each person, and your preparedness to deal with stress, hard work and limited personal time. Staff members are expected to lead by example and participate/lead in all aspects of camp including meals, plork, activities and supervised free time. You will be a role model, friend, coach, problem solver, game and activity leader, and substitute “parent” while at camp. Some staff will work primarily in the kitchen; however all will interact with campers and will hold each other to the same high standards of behavior. Thank you in advance for your energy, creativity and service!
