Brushes on the Bridge

Brushes on the Bridge is Arts Alliance Forest Park and the Village of Forest Park's public art project to re-mural the Circle Avenue Bridge with your work of art.
The deadline for entry is March 15, 2024. The $40 entry fee includes:

• Brushes on the Bridge Paint Kit with 7 latex paint colors and paint brushes
• Your 10’ x 2.2' high section on the Bridge

ART ENTRY

In the space below, please provide a description or sketch of your artwork idea, clearly identifying the major elements or theme. Thematically, your mural design should be tasteful, family-friendly.

ORIGINALITY CERTIFICATION

I hereby certify that the art entry described below is an original work of authorship by the undersigned artist and that it is not copied from, nor does it include, another person's copyrighted work.

ARTWORK RELEASE

I, the undersigned artist, represent that the art entry described above is an original work of authorship personally created by the undersigned artist. In consideration for the acceptance of the art entry by the Arts Alliance Forest Park and the Village of Forest Park, hereafter referred to as the Organizations, and intending to be legally bound hereby, the undersigned grants the Organizations the right to publicly display the art entry, if it is selected for display, for an undetermined number of years. The undersigned acknowledges that the final decision regarding the suitability of an art entry to be displayed will be made by the Organizations. The undersigned further acknowledges that if the art entry is selected for display, that the nature of the art may subject to some damage, distortion, or other modification due to bridge materials and weather.

The undersigned also grants and assigns to the Organizations the non- exclusive right and permission, in respect to the art entry that I have submitted to use, re-use, and otherwise reproduce, and display the same, individually or in conjunction with other original artwork, writing, photograph and video, in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world for illustration, promotion, art, advertising and trade, or any other purpose whatsoever.

The Organizations, its employees, its agents, and volunteers, are exempt from any and all liability for damage, loss, or misappropriation of the art entry. The undersigned further agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend the Organizations, employees, agents, and volunteers from any and all claims of any nature whatsoever, including, but not limited to, claims of copyright infringement, by any party whatsoever, arising out of, or, in any way related to, the submission of the art entry.

I further hereby release and discharge the Organizations from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the art entry including without limitations any and all claims for libel or invasion of privacy. The Organizations assume no responsibility for lost or damaged property of artwork. The Organizations may assign or transfer all rights granted to it hereunder. This authorization and release shall also inure to the benefit of the successor, legal representatives, licenses, and assignments of the Organizations.
