• IP Address Request and Justification

  • In assigning IPv4 and IPv6 address space to Internet subscribers, ISPs take guidance from assignment policies and procedures set forth by ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers) Number Resource Policy Manual, RFC 2050, and RFC 3177. IP address space is assigned based on utilization efficiency guidelines as defined by ARIN Number Resource Policy Manual, RFC 2050, and RFC 3177.

CWEP requires customers complete the IP justification form for the use of address space equal to or greater than a /29. CWEP’s policies are based on RFC2050 (http://tools.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2050.txt). CWEP abides by ARIN’s policies to promote efficient use of IP address space.

Requester must show EXACTLY how address assignments will be utilized and must provide appropriate details. Should CWEP determine the assigned address space is not being utilized efficiently, CWEP reserves the right to revoke the assignment and reassign an appropriate number of IP addresses.

  • IPv4 Request Information

  • Please indicate how you plan to use the IP addresses that you are requesting. Please note that equipment behind firewalls/routers do not require globally unique IP addresses (employ the use of "Network Address Translation" [NAT]). Please indicate whether you are already conserving address space using a form of NAT. If additional IP space is required for domain hosting, please indicate why you do not use “Name-Based Virtual Hosting”. If additional space is needed to explain your justification for IP addresses, you may attach an addendum and/or network diagram to this form.
