2026 LOUISIANA PEST MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION JOHN MCPHERSON SCHOLARSHIP AWARD APPLICATION
The Louisiana Pest Management Association John McPherson Scholarship Award is open to any graduating senior (i.e. any student currently scheduled to graduate during the 2025-2026 academic year) who is the child or grandchild of an employee of a LPMA member company planning to enroll at an accredited Louisiana university during the following academic year. The deadline for filing the application is May 1, 2026. No entries postmarked after this date will be accepted, unless otherwise noted. The recipient will be notified and will receive the $1,500 lump-sum award. The Louisiana Pest Management Association is looking for future leaders. The ideal candidate for this scholarship will be, first and foremost, someone likely to succeed in an advanced academic program. This is why we have established a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA requirement through the last completed school quarter/semester. The ideal candidate must also have a composite ACT score of 23. The application must also include a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or someone else qualified to evaluate the student's ability to succeed academically. Academic achievement will be weighted heavily, but other factors also will be considered. A list of accomplishments and extra-curricular (school or community-related) activities is required, as these will be considered in the evaluation process. Please note, however, that regardless of these factors, every application will receive the utmost consideration, and all who meet the relevant criteria are encouraged to apply! Please make sure that all applicants complete the application accurately and completely. Include all attachments listed in items 1-6. Failure to do so will automatically disqualify an application from consideration. The Louisiana Pest Management Association will award only one scholarship this year and we encourage all qualified students to apply.
