New members who are not currently participating in an ESYO ensemble may join based upon a successful audition. Applicants will need to submit a recording of their playing for acceptance by February 19. The audition requirements consist of two contrasting pieces (1-2 minutes in length) demonstrating the applicants range and technical ability. It is expected that students can perform repertoire equivalent to NYSSMA Level 4 or above.
Those interested in becoming new members need to first complete and submit this audition form before they complete the registration form. Applicants will be notified by February 20 whether or not they were accepted. Those accepted into the ESYO chamber music program should register by February 23 .

Why Fiddle?
Learn beautiful melodies and energetic dance tunes from around the world, including jigs and reels of the British Isles, polskas from Sweden, and American old-time tunes. Fiddle music is traditionally dance music, and in this workshop we will learn how to play with groove and rhythm so people will want to get up and move. Learn to play by ear, harmonize, improvise, create rhythmic accompaniments and jam in this friendly folk music workshop.
