Now more than ever, society needs a new generation of leaders dedicated to strengthening society’s social, moral, and mental fibers. The Changemaker Fellowship aims to develop young leaders using Mentora’s proven Inner Mastery | Outer Impact approach to bringing out the best in oneself and others by activating and expressing the Five Core Energies of Purpose, Wisdom, Love, Growth, and Self-Realization in all aspects of their work and lives.
Leveraging the award-winning class taught by Mentora Founder, Dr. Hitendra Wadhwa, at Columbia Business School, the goal of the Mentora Changemaker Fellowship is to equip highly committed and talented youth with the insights, skills, experiences and support needed to help them, in the years ahead, bring positive and deep change in the values and practices of whatever discipline they pursue.
The Fellowship prepares Fellows for affecting change from the inside out – shifting the hearts and minds of their audience in a more empowered and positive direction.
Drawing from a curriculum developed over 15 years developing leaders on the EMBA program at Columbia Business School and at the Mentora Institute, the Mentora Youth Changemaker Fellowship will invite Fellows to strengthen their own character and leadership in three key areas:
1. LEADING YOURSELF
- Create greater clarity for yourself on what your values and purpose are, how you can express these in your work, and how you can harmonize with the world around you when your values conflict with others’ values and behavior.
- Go on a journey of self-discovery to identify which impulses, desires, emotions, thoughts and beliefs are true to you and which of them are “false friends” you should seek to conquer.
- Use adversities that strike you, or have struck you in the past, to make you better – not bitter.
- Ground your life in the form of service to humanity that you are uniquely gifted to manifest in the world.
- Build a connection with your inner voice as a source of clarity and wisdom to guide you on your life path.
2. LEADING OTHERS
- Understand people not only for who they are but also for who they can be, and practice forms of communication and connection to inspire people to become the best versions of themselves.
- Master the science of relationships, so you can build trust, inspire, influence, communicate with impact and cultivate growth partners.
- Develop a library of personal journey stories from your life and use them to build your personal brand and inspire and influence people toward a common purpose.
3. LEADING CHANGE
- Develop a more nuanced, balanced and illuminated understanding of issues faced by you and by today’s society, thus preparing you to operate with wisdom, a sincere and open search for truth in all matters, as you go through life.
- Build out a change vision based on the purpose you want to pursue in life, and learn how you will adapt and express this vision in different roles and contexts you find yourself in as you progress personally and professionally in the years ahead.
- Engage in change initiatives of your choosing where you formulate a vision, engage in deep discovery, develop a change strategy, plan and execute a pilot, learn and iterate your approach, all with the aspiration of having real impact and gaining real experience in becoming an agent of positive change in the world.
Structure and Duration
Practically, the Fellowship will consist of bi-weekly group meetings attended in person on campus. In guided sessions led by a Campus Facilitator, Fellows will absorb our leadership curriculum in bitesize chunks and practice our leadership ‘actions’ in scenario-based exercises. Fellows will be required to complete 1 hour of pre-work prior to each session.
The Fellowship will require Fellows to commit to a structured course of study until the end of the academic year, but, optionally, we will invite Fellows to continue the Fellowship through the Fall Semester of 2025 for a total duration of up to two years.
The Fellowship will be launching on campuses across the US and UK and Fellows will have opportunities to connect with a global network of emerging leaders.

This Fellowship is for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university. We encourage students from any academic discipline to apply as we seek to create a global fellowship of emerging leaders across disciplines and national boundaries.
