- Commitment for the entire school year: I understand taking one or more AP courses is a commitment each semester. Once my final course selections have been submitted to my counselor, I may not be allowed to make changes to my AP course selections. I also understand that by selecting AP courses as an alternate, I may be scheduled for the course based on course availability based on the final master schedule. I understand that due to master schedule requirements, I will not be able to drop an AP course.
- Credit for the Advanced Placement exam: I understand that taking the AP exam (May 2025) is highly recommended by the East Wake faculty but does not guarantee college credit. Colleges and universities determine the minimum score for which they will award credit. The state of North Carolina pays the $96 per exam fee for students enrolled in the AP class.
- Assignments and work habits: I understand that AP courses require a substantial commitment of time and energy. I will be diligent in completing my assignments thoughtfully and on time. I understand that I am responsible for being a constructive member of an AP class by participating in class discussions, working cooperatively in groups, respecting the views of others and taking responsibility for my decisions.
- Special Requirements: I agree to purchase the materials needed for each of my Advanced Placement courses. If a course will not be offered due to limited enrollment, you will be notified.
- College Board Website: All students enrolled in AP courses will establish a student account on www.collegeboard.org. The website also has testing dates and important information regarding AP courses.
