Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for Psychiatric Social Workers. The Psychiatric Social Workers will perform a wide variety of professional social work services in connection with the treatment of clients in need of mental health services.
The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 1/31/2025 with potential extension.

Job Duties

Assist in providing oversight and monitoring of the Substance Abuse Service Helpline, a 24/7 call-center that links community members to necessary substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services and ancillary services throughout Los Angeles County

Provide mental health education and support regarding callers with co-occurring disorders.

Provide Quality Service Reviews and identify, troubleshoot and provide consultation to substance abuse counselors.

Assist in the coordination of care with contracted treatment facilities, identify barriers to treatment and explore ways to improve access to care.

Collaborate, implement and offer training and support regarding co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and unit workflows.

Facilitate brief assessment and interview individuals and/or their families to identify SUD level of care and connect to treatment.

Provide assistance with psychiatric emergency calls, utilize crisis intervention techniques to aid persons during crisis calls, connect callers to crisis services or emergency response services as needed.

Assist clients, families, and significant others in understanding substance abuse, co-occurring disorders and treatment options.

Evaluate the outcomes of implemented policies and provide feedback for process improvement.

Develop and utilize community resources, public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the callers.

Attend in-service training programs, continuing professional education, seminars and workshops to keep abreast of substance abuse treatments, co-occurring disorders and the SUD landscape.
Minimum Qualifications:

A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Sciences.

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Skills/ Experience:

Strong clinical and crisis management skills.

Strong knowledge of community resources for patients with substance abuse, with an emphasis on traditionally underserved populations such as persons experiencing homelessness and those affected by co-occurring disorders.
