  • Thank you for your interest in the Noyce Teaching Scholarship! This application is for graduate students (or future graduate students) interested in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program in math or science 7-12 at Southern Connecticut State University.

  • Please provide the name and email address of at least one reference who can speak to your potential as a future science or math teacher.

  • Please upload a personal statement in which you reflect on all of the following.

    • Your interest in teaching in a high-needs school,
    • The knowledge and skills you believe are necessary to be an effective science or math teacher in a high-needs school, and,
    • The beliefs and experiences related to science/math teaching that you will bring to the SCSU Noyce OwlsTeach program and how these beliefs and experiences will help you become a leader of educational change.

    The Personal Statement must be typed using a Times New Roman or similar font, 12 point, single-spaced, and 500-750 words long. This Statement serves as a writing sample, so it is important to submit a carefully reviewed, spelling- and grammar-checked paper. (Non-anonymous question)
