In fact, most insurance companies cover between 80% and 100% of the purchase price for medically related hair replacement purposes. We would like to clarify that "Cranial Prosthesis" is the preferred term instead of "Wig." When submitted with "Wig," insurance companies may reject the claim since it's seen as a cosmetic expense. However, describing the same product as a "Cranial Hair Prosthesis" necessitated for medically related hair loss often results in a paid claim. SHEARFANATICS will assist you in navigating the process by contacting your insurance provider on your behalf for pre-authorization, filing your claim, and following up with you to ensure that your needs are met. CHECKLIST

Individuals experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions such as alopecia or cancer may be eligible for insurance coverage of their cranial prosthesis, regardless of whether it's covered under their policy of benefits. To initiate the process, please provide the following documents via email to Info@shearfanatics.com

 Prescription letter 

 Personal statement (handwritten)

 Hair loss intake form signed by the patient

 Most recent doctor's diagnosis 

Once we have acquired all necessary paperwork, we will submit everything via mail, email, and/or fax. Approval time is unpredictable and is dependent on the insurance company. Once pre-approval is granted, we will begin processing your order immediately and notify you of the processing same.
