    This form can be used to estimate salary and benefits for summer teaching, academic year overloads, academic year buyouts and pop-up classes. These calculations are dependent upon accurate base salary information. Benefits are calculated at an estimated rate of 32.9% as provided by the Office of Business and Finance for fiscal year 2025. Actual benefits will be charged to projects or cost centers that are benefits responsible. This form should be considered an estimate.   • Budgeted Salary: 

    To determine your budgeted salary, log into Firefly, Click on the "Employee Self Service Tile," and click on the "My Employment" tile. Your budgeted salary will be listed under Employee Position Overview. 

  • Summer/Pre-Session

    Faculty are paid 2.8% of base salary per credit hour for courses taught during the summer or the winter pre-session up to a maximum of $8,000. The total maximum summer salary across all sources (teaching, research, etc.) is 33% of base salary.

    The maximum summer salary a faculty member can receive across all funding sources is 33% of base salary.

  • Course Overload (during the Academic Year)

    The college pays 4.16% of base salary per credit hour for courses taught on overload during the regular academic year. The total maximum academic year overload across all sources is 20% of base salary or $15,000, whichever is higher.

    The maximum amount of overload a faculty member can receive during the academic year is 20% of base salary or $15,000, whichever is greater.

  • Course Buyout

    Faculty must secure 4.16% of base salary per credit hour of a buyout, or 12.5% of base salary for a three credit hour course.
