Faculty Salary Calculator

This form can be used to estimate salary and benefits for summer teaching, academic year overloads, academic year buyouts and pop-up classes. These calculations are dependent upon accurate base salary information. Additionally, benefits calculations are estimates and actual benefits will be charged. To determine your budgeted salary, log into Firefly, Click on the "Employee Self Service Tile," and click on the "My Employment" tile. Your budgeted salary will be listed under Employee Position Overview.
Base Salary*
Summer/Pre-Session

Faculty are paid 2.8% of base salary per credit hour for courses taught during the summer or the winter pre-session up to a maximum of $8,000. The total maximum summer salary across all sources (teaching, research, etc.) is 33% of base salary.

Exceeds Maximum Pay: The maximum summer/pre-session salary payment for a three-credit hour course is $8,000.

Course Overload (during the Academic Year)

The college pays 4.16% of base salary per credit hour for courses taught on overload during the regular academic year. The total maximum academic year overload across all sources is 20% of base salary or $15,000, whichever is higher.

If calculation is less than $15,000, then the maximum is $15,000.
Course Buyout

Faculty must secure 4.16% of base salary per credit hour of a buyout, or 12.5% of base salary for a three credit hour course. Benefits are calculated at an estimated rate of 32.9% as provided by the Office of Business and Finance. (Fiscal Year 2025)
