Longevity of hair extensions rely solely on at home care. For the best results only use PROFESSIONAL products recommended to you by your stylist. Protect your investment!
- Wash with Sulfate Free shampoo and conditioner. (Hydrating or smoothing.)
- Wash hair 1-2x a week.
- Always use a Sulfate free Leave-in conditioner/detangle after washing, before brushing.
- Always use a heat protectant when heat styling.
- Do not heat the extension hair above 250F.
- Oil the mid to ends of the hair at least once a day. Avoid the root area of hair.
- Sleep in a low braid or ponytail.
- Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase.
- Brush (gently) from the ends or your hair moving upward using a brush or comb specifically designed for hair extensions.
- Brush a few times a day to prevent tangling/matting.
- Avoid harsh pulling or yanking on extensions.
- Avoid saltwater, chlorinated water and sunscreen as they can severely dry out and discolor extensions.
- NO self-tanners touching the hair, as they can turn the blonde extensions orange.
- You can swim with your extensions but remember as stated above, salt & chlorinated water severely dry out the extension hair. If the hair is not properly prepared before swimming you can get matting or massive tangles. Recommend doing so with pre wet hair, a tight braid and leave-in conditioner or mask.
- Be sure to keep your extensions away from sunscreen, as the chemicals Avobenzone & Octocrylene can alter the color and quality of the extensions, turning them pink or orange.
- Avoid hard water, if possible, use a water softener or shower head filter.
- Always contact your stylists if you have questions about products for your extensions.
- Maintain your extensions ON TIME. (Frequency depends on the type of installation and will be advised by your stylist. On average the minimum is 4 weeks between move ups).
- Extensions can be colored professionally. Never bleach extensions. Having extensions colored by anyone outside of this agreement will be at the client’s own expense and risk.
- Hair can last approximately 6-9 months with proper care depending on the type of hair you purchase.
