James River Association Lynchburg Outdoor camp is located at the Upper James River Center located at Riveredge Park in Amherst County - directly across the river from Historic Downtown Lynchburg!
Campers will have the opportunity to kayak, canoe, paddle board, and float in tubes! Our on-the-water explorations engage students with new skills, scientific techniques, and historical insight to better understand and enjoy our waterways.
Campers will also learn proper paddling techniques and about water safety – all while having fun with friends. Campers will have several opportunities to fish (you may bring your own fishing gear or JRA will supply it), and we will provide lessons on proper fishing techniques, as well as teach about the anatomy of a fish.
Maximum capacity is 25 campers/week. Camp runs from 9am - 4pm. Additional extended care is offered for parents who need to drop their students off at 8 am and/or pick up at 5pm
Our 5 day camp is $300 ($50 additional for extended care) due at the time of registering. Please use one form per child registered.
