NJ Trails - Volunteers from age 18-80+ move boulders, forge through brush, and build charming pedestrian bridges to create special places for people to walk and connect with the land. Many of the trails on the website have been created or are maintained by these volunteers. This group meets weekend mornings.
Stewardship and Trails - Volunteers work on D&R Greenway preserves removing invasive species, restoring habitats, planting trees and shrubs and maintaining trails among other tasks. This group meets Thursday mornings.
Point Breeze Historic Gardens - Volunteers are invaluable in getting the heirloom garden crops started each year and keeping it flourishing into fall. The garden produces vegetables grown at the time when Joseph Napoleon, former king of Naples and Spain, was at Point Breeze. The vegetable harvests are donated to Bordentown's Christ Church, and then distributed to local people in need.
Native Plant Nursery - Volunteers annually plant and care for more than fifty species of native plants that are used to restore native landscapes on D&R Greenway preserves, on partner lands and in yards of local gardeners who are planting native.
Outreach and Community Events/Willing Hands - Assist with events that provide opportunities for the community to learn about the value of conservation. Activities including assistance with major mailings and representing D&R Greenway at our own and community events, assisting with distribution of our literature and talking with people about our mission and activities.
Art Docents - These volunteers assist at our art exhibit opening receptions.
