TERMS & CONDITIONS:
•To be eligible, photos must be taken at any OPEN Onondaga County Park/Syracuse City Park during the contest period of February 1-29, 2024.
•Entries are due by 4 p.m. on March 1, 2024. Late entries will not be accepted.
•The contest is open to photographers of all abilities, ages 5 and up.
•Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks employees, Friends of Parks employees and board members are not eligible to participate.
•Regular admission rates apply.
•Each person is limited to 2 final entries.
•Photographers must follow all park rules, obey posted signs and if in a county park stay on designated paths with the proper equipment (i.e. snowshoes, cross country skis) and obey posted signs. Flash photography is prohibited where indicated.
•Onondaga County Parks reserves the right to terminate, cancel or suspend the contest without notice.
•Submission of an entry automatically constitutes the contestant’s acceptance of all the conditions set forth in the rules.
Submission Details:
•This online entry form must be completed in order to enter the contest.
•Photographer must complete one online form per photo. Each photographer is limited to 2 final entries.
•If the photo contains a readily identifiable person as a subject, the photographer must submit the person’s name, address, email address and phone number via the online entry form.
•If the subject is a minor, the photographer, if not the parent or guardian, must also submit the parent or guardian’s information. This information must be submitted on the online entry form.
Photo Specifications:
•Entries must be in a digital format to be eligible and uploaded via this form.
•Photos must be submitted in jpeg format. Please provide the largest file size possible (at least 300 dpi) to allow for quality printing of photos.
•Low resolution images (files under 500 Kb) will not be considered.
•Only minor digital enhancements, such as cropping, contrast, etc. are permitted.
Images that have been significantly modified will be disqualified.
•Photos with date marks, watermarks, logos, signatures or copyright notices will be disqualified.
•Contest officials reserve the right to refuse any photo that does not meet the photo specifications or adhere to contest rules.
Photo Management:
•All submissions become property of Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks and will not be acknowledged or returned.
•By entering the contest, you grant Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks the non-exclusive, world-wide, perpetual right and license to use, display, reproduce, publish, transmit and distribute your photograph on the Internet, and/or in any other promotional materials produced by Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks.
•Photographers retain the right to use the submitted photo.
•When possible, Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks will credit the photographer when his/her photo is used. It is unlikely that photographers will be notified prior to photo usage.
•Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks reserves the right to crop and/or re-size photos if necessary.
•By entering the contest, you represent, acknowledge and warrant that the submitted photo is an original work created solely by you, and you are the sole owner of all right, title and interest in and to your photo.
•Winning images and all other contest entries could be used in any of the Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks print and digital collateral.
Judging, Prizes & Award Presentation:
•Judging will take place in March 2024.
•First and second place winners will be chosen in four categories by our panel of jusdges. The categories are: Best Action, Best Portrait, Best Winter Scene and Most Artistic.
•People's Choice Winner will be selected by an online public vote.
•Winners will be contacted via the email they provide on the entry form.
•Winners will be listed at www.OnondagaCountyParks.com/about/WinterPhotoContest
•Winning images may be displayed at various Onondaga County Parks/Syracuse City Parks, on the parks' websites and among other potential platforms.
