2025 Neighboring Week Celebration Fund - request form

The Midland Area Cultural Awareness Coalition coordinates Midland County's Neighboring Week events and activities. The Cultural Awareness Coalition believes neighboring is a catalyst for building a sense of belonging across Midland County.
The Neighboring Week Celebration Fund is available to encourage greater participation in neighborhood-led activities. This initiative offers financial support for neighborhoods and groups of individuals to organize events and activities during Midland's Neighboring Week (September 28 - October 4, 2025).

Goal: The aim of the Neighboring Week Celebration Fund is to encourage residents within individual neighborhoods to participate in shared activities and events together. Neighboring Week helps to develop relationships amongst neighbors.

Criteria:

1. A maximum of $100, per neighborhood event, will be considered.

2. This fund is available to individuals within Midland County.

3. This fund is available to supplement activities such as (but not limited to) block parties, ice cream socials, neighborhood meet & greets, group activities within your physical neighborhood. Additional examples include, neighboring "cookie swap", neighbor care packages, the development of a neighborhood directory.

4. Fund recipients will be required to submit a short summary of the event with pictures to promote on our social media outlets.

5. The Cultural Awareness Coalition and Neighboring Subcommittee (initiatives of the Midland Area Community Foundation) will not be held liable for any injuries or accidents that occur as a result of activities or events related to this fund.

6. Ineligible applicants: Businesses, nonprofit organizations, City of Midland and Midland County government, members of the Neighboring committee.

7. Ineligible projects: Requests for individual enrichment, physical improvements to the neighborhood, individual or community awards, political gatherings.

To apply for Neighborhood Week Celebration funds, please complete the form below. Applications for Neighboring Week Celebration funds will be considered on a first come first serve basis, until all fund have been distributed.

If selected to receive Neighborhood Week Celebration funds, you will receive an email and you will be required to complete a brief Neighboring Week Celebration Fund Award Acceptance Form prior to receiving funds.
