Too frequent
Not frequent enough
About right
Currently, our vet checks are only carried about by Veterinary Surgeons. We recognise that Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN) have a huge part to play in wildlife rehabber/vet relationships. Do you think it would be appropriate for an RVN to be able to carry out the checks on behalf of their vet?
Yes
No
Unsure
Currently, to achieve the Wildlife Care Badge, applicants must pass a knowledge assessment, have a vet check and submit regular accountability (displaying a relationship with a vet and that records are kept). Do you think this is:
A suitable level of checks
Too demanding
Not demanding enough
In 2024 the Wildlife Care Badge is aiming to bring more resources to people working with wildlife. Which of these do you think would be helpful:
Wellbeing/mental health support sessions
Free or low cost webinars on wildlife topics (anatomy, husbandry etc)
Free or low cost webinars on running a wildlife rescue (policies, procedures etc)
Administration resources (blank admission forms, blank care plan forms etc)
Discussion meetings
Free or low cost physical resources (books, leaflets and flyers etc)
