Would you like to volunteer and help us with Operation Snowsuit? You can select more than 1 option.
Drivers - Transport snowsuits from our warehouse in Pembroke to our pick up partners in (Renfrew, Arnprior, Killaloe, Petawawa, Deep River, Eganville, Golden Lake, Beachburg, Barry’s Bay, Calabogie)
Sorters and Organizers - Sort snowsuits at our warehouse in Pembroke (unpacking snowsuits and hanging them by size to keep the warehouse tidy and organized, requires climbing stairs).
Packers - Put together the snowsuit orders in our warehouse in Pembroke using order sheets prepared by staff and prepare the orders for pick up from drivers to bring to the pick up partner locations across the County.
Running Snowsuit Drives - Help us gather inventory for the next season of the program by advertising, collecting, storing, sorting and delivering winter gear to our warehouse.
Become a Communications Partner - Help get information out to the public about the program offer and create connections with other community members to share with them what is needed to fulfill orders that cannot be completed with the inventory we have. (Facebook, personal network, etc.).
Become a Distribution Partner - A special opportunity for local agencies with a physical address to help distribute snowsuits for pick up in their local area. We are especially in need of locations in Barry’s Bay, Calabogie, and Westmeath/Beachburg. Distribution partners must have experience and training in confidentiality and have regular business hours.
Want to help in other ways? We are recruiting volunteers to assist us with our annual fundraising event, too. If you’d like to be considered for an event committee, please indicate which role(s) you prefer, check all that apply based on what you love to help with and your top skills. All roles are supported by staff:
Help lead the event coordination with others on the planning committee and coming to monthly meetings in Pembroke
Organize hospitality elements for the guests (food, drink, gifts etc)
Plan activities and entertainment for the guests
Help gather and assemble prize packs for the raffles (large prize offers rather than a large number of small items)
Support marketing efforts in any area such as design work, printing, website, posters, social media etc.
Help with decor and event mood/vibe
Assist with set up or tear down of the event
Serve or support the event on the day it is held only in a helpful role
Help sell tickets and contribute to the outreach and awareness of the event
