Cape Fear Botanical Garden preschool programs engage and excite young learners through storytimes, hands-on learning projects, and outdoor explorations. Encourage your child's love of nature, art, and science with themed programs designed especially for our youngest garden explorers.
Ages 2-5 with a parent or guardian. Siblings are welcome to accompany, but must be included on the registration form.
Come dressed to explore outside. There are two back-to-back one-hour sessions of this class. The same class is offered twice to accommodate more kids.

Location: Please check in with the Gift Shop for class location. Preschool may meet in our classroom or our Children's Garden Pavilion.
Fees: $13 per child, $3 for members. Fee includes preschool class activities plus Garden admission for one adult and the child. Children younger than 1 may accompany an older sibling at no extra cost.
Preschool: My Pet Plant June 26th 10am and 11am ( 10 am session is FULL)
Have you ever wanted a pet plant? In this class we’ll read a story about a pet plant named Jerry and the school where he lives. Then plant our own pet seedling. This activity introduces propagation for preschoolers so we can all learn how to share the joys of growing plants.
Preschool: Garden Watering Helpers July 17th 10am and 11am (10am Session is FULL)
You’re never too small to be a helper! In this preschool class, we’ll enjoy an outdoor storytime. Then pitch in to water our Heritage Garden with child sized watering cans. After our hard work, we’ll share a pitcher of lemonade and snacks.
Preschool: Dashing Dragonflies August 28th 10am and 11am (10am Session is FULL)
Dragonflies inspire awe and wonder as they swoop and swerve over the pond. In this class, preschoolers will learn about these amazing insects, examine a preserved dragonfly up-close, and create a dragonfly craft of their own.
