ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Authors are invited to submit abstracts summarizing a clinical case of broad interest to nephrology through this form by July 14, 2024. There is no charge for submission. This opportunity is open to nephrology professionals of all types and at all levels.
Case Reports submitted should be novel and should have a single, well-defined message with meaningful clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic implications adequately supported by the clinical evaluation and diagnostic tests.
ABBREVIATIONS
Use of standard abbreviations is desirable, e.g. RBC. Use kg., gm., mg., ml., L and %. Place a special or unusual abbreviation in parentheses after a full word or phrase the first time it appears. Use numerals to indicate numbers, except to begin sentences. Do not use subtitles, e.g., Methods, Results.
BODY OF ABSTRACT
If applicable, organize the body of the abstract as follows:
- Introduction/statement of the initial presentation of the case
- Detailed description of diagnostic methods used
- Additional points of interest
- Summary of the results presented in sufficient detail
- Statement of the conclusions reached
ORIGINAL PUBLICATION
Abstracts previously published or presented at a national/international meeting will not be accepted.
NOTIFICATION
Authors will receive notification of receipt of their abstract via email. All abstracts are peer-reviewed by members of the NKFI Professional Advisory Board Executive Committee. Authors will be notified by August 1, 2024 whether their abstract has been accepted for presentation at Citywide Grand Rounds on Thursday, September 19th at Maggiano's Little Italy Chicago.
JOURNAL PUBLICATION
The NKFI will pay up to $1,000 toward case publication in the medical journal of the author’s choice, should the case be chosen for presentation.
