PERMITS AND LICENSES:
It is each vendor’s responsibility to know what permits and licenses they are required to obtain to sell their products. As a new market, we expect some time for our vendors to be fully compliant. Not having all licenses at the start of our market will not exclude you from acceptance, if reasonable efforts are made to ensure product safety and adherence to state requirements. Please keep a copy of all obtained licenses and permits available in case concerns arise at market. Please review the Vendor Application Instructions file on the Talihina Farmers Market website for more detail on links to the most common requirements as well as the following Guidelines Fact-Sheet: https://ag.ok.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Bringing-Farm-to-Market-2022.pdf
FOOD ASSISTANCE BENEFIT PROGRAMS:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. TFM is working towards accepting SNAP/EBT at market level for eligible products and it is up to each vendor to decide if they wish to participate or not. If you wish to accept this program, the Market Manager will explain how the process will work and provide signage for your booth. In summary, there will be a token redemption process and payments will be distributed by check from the Market Manager on market day for all tokens paid to each vendor.
- Choctaw Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Vendors selling at least 4 types of OK grown vegetables/fruits can sign up directly to offer this payment transaction option here (there is no market level process): https://www.choctawnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/cno-farmer-app.pdf
PRODUCERS AGREEMENT:
I agree to abide by all Market rules, including the requirements that all produce, plants, meats, and other crop or animal products I sell will be “OKLAHOMA GROWN” and I will produce at least 80% of the products I sell on any particular market day. I understand my membership in the association shall/can be revoked immediately if I intentionally misrepresent my products. I also understand the association has the right to inspect my farm or business in the case of a dispute.
