  • Welcome
Thank you for your interest in our "NHS Pension Support (Basic)" service for AfC staff (up to Band 8c), and nurses who work in GP land.

We have brought together a team of experts with unrivalled knowledge to help you with your NHS pension. They have a wealth of experience dealing with complex NHS pension issues, with the majority having experience of working at NHSBSA in annual allowance and pension award teams.

    Our Services
We are now providing NHS pension support and education for AfC staff, who are not looking for financial advice or accountancy support at this time.

Please note - This is NOT financial advice

Unfortunately we are not able to provide our "NHS Pension Support (Basic)" service to NHS pension members who are not AfC staff (up to Band 8c). If you are a hospital doctor, dentist, general practitioner or senior manager, we offer our NHS Pension Support (Standard) service that covers everything within the Basic service, but also caters for more complex service patterns, pension taxation and flexibility of options - the "NHS Pension Support (Standard)" service is available here for £650+VAT

    What do you get?
We will analyse your NHS pension record and project your NHS pension to your chosen date of retirement. The projection considers factors such as early retirement, partial retirement, as well as the impact of the McCloud remedy.

    Costs
The cost of our NHS Pension Support (Basic) service is £300+VAT.

    Next Steps
Once you've registered, we will review the information you have supplied and make contact if we need any additional information. We will either request this from you or your NHS pension scheme.

Our turnaround time is currently 4 to 6 weeks from receipt of all information. Once the report is completed, we will email you a copy and arrange for an online Teams meeting to discuss the report and answer any questions you may have on your NHS pension.

If you have any questions, please email admin@medifintech.co.uk

We look forward to hearing from you

  • NHS Pension Membership

  • Special Class status is a historical provision awarded to 1995 section members employed as nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and health visitors before 6th March 1995. It enabled members in these occupational groups to retire from age 55 without a reduction to their benefits, subject to certain qualifying criteria being met at retirement.

Mental Health Officer status was awarded to 1995 section members, employed before 6th March 1995, who spend all, or almost all, of their time in the direct treatment and care of patients who are mentally ill.

  • Projection Requirements

Our "NHS Pension Support (Basic)" service provides two default NHS pension scenarios, based on Normal Retirement Age.

    Normal Retirement Age
1995 section: 55 or 60 years old, depending on Special Class status. 2008 section: 65 years old. 2015 scheme: same as your state pension age, or 65 if that is later. If you have already reached Normal Retirement Age, we will use the date of your next birthday.

  • Scenario 1:

Your 1995/2008 scheme and 2015 scheme pension benefits are projected to the Normal Retirement Age of your 1995/2008 scheme.

The pension award is based on taking your 1995/2008 scheme benefits and 2015 scheme benefits at the Normal Retirement Age of your 1995/2008 scheme, e.g both at 60.

If you would like us to use an alternative date to Normal Retirement Age, please indicate below and we will base Scenario 1 on your chosen date of retirement.

  •  Scenario 2:

Your 1995/2008 scheme and 2015 scheme pension benefits are projected to the Normal Retirement Age of your 1995/2008 scheme.

The pension award is based on taking 1995/2008 scheme at Normal Retirement Age and 2015 scheme benefits at State Pension Age.

If you would like us to use an alternative date to Normal Retirement Age, please indicate below and we will base Scenario 2 on your chosen date of retirement.

If you plan on rejoining the 2015 scheme after taking 1995/2008 benefits (for example Retire and Rejoin or Partial Retirement), please indicate below and we will continue 2015 benefit accrual after taking 1995/2008 benefits.
