APPLICATION DEADLINE: ROLLING ADMISSION
OVERVIEW
The growing trend of stress, mental health and other psychosocial disorders in The Gambia has created an urgent need for highly trained counsellors and mental health practitioners.
The Management Development Institute (MDI) was established in 1982 by an Act of Parliament to provide management training, consultancy and research to the public, private and NGO sectors in the Gambia.
Wayas Counselling & Training Partnering is a private organisation specialising in delivering professional counselling, psychotherapy and mental health training to individuals, organisations and communities, both in The Gambia (Registration No. SRN 1820125948) and the UK (Registration No.15286574).
Together, these organisations have partnered to address the needs gap in mental health through quality training programmes in Professional Counselling & Mental Health for professionals and the general public.
GOALS
The collaboration between the two institutions aims to:
- Increase access to mental health services in The Gambia, by providing training to create a qualified, competent, and culturally-relevant counselling and mental health workforce.
- Work in collaboration with organisations and institutions to advance, promote, and protect clients’ interests in mental health.
- Be leaders in the provision of quality, efficient and cost-effective counselling, and mental health services in The Gambia and the diaspora.
