Important Criteria:
Team Composition, Diversity, and Resources: Teams should have at least 2 members, however, we highly encourage teams with multiple members that represent a diversity of backgrounds, expertise, perspectives, networks, and resources. Larger, multidisciplinary teams allow for expanded collaboration, brainstorming, and access to knowledge and skills that may not be available to smaller groups. We recognize the great value in drawing from a breadth of viewpoints, life experiences, disciplines, skillsets, and community connections to innovate solutions. If you have a smaller team, consider how you might engage with a broader community to augment your team's composition and resources.
Please note the following before you start:
- You need a team of at least two individuals to apply.
- At least one student must be included in the team. The team can include faculty or staff members, family members, as well as members of your community such as problem owners (the type of people who are facing the problem), representatives from local industries, nonprofits, local government representatives, etc.
- Please mark "Yes" on the last question of this page if you need help finding team members.
- Someone from MJC will be contacting you in the future to help you find team members.
- Once the application is completed, a link to complete the application will be made available on the "Thank You" page.
- Once you and/or your team have registered, a faculty coach will be assigned to you to help guide you in completing the application.
Competition Prompt:
Create a short video capturing the heartbeat of life in the future, however you imagine it. Share your vision and let your creativity paint the emotions, beauty, and significance that make it unforgettable. Push the boundaries of imagination to envision a moment from a future that is unpredictably unique.
There are no thematic constraints to limit your creative spirit. We're seeking storytellers who dare to go beyond the conventional, challenge the status quo, and redefine the narrative of tomorrow.
The Power of 2 Minutes:
Use the limited time frame wisely. Every second counts. What key elements will you include to ensure your audience experiences the full depth of this moment?
