Rules and Guidelines
- Trucks, floats and larger entries need to be in place no later than 8:00 am. All other entries in place by 9:00 am. Parade begins at 10:00 am.
- ALL entries must be decorated in patriotic form or according to the years parade theme. Simple balloons and/or streamers would not be considered suffice.
- Antique/classic vehicles are not required to decorate unless they are advertising or representing a business.
- Political entries will be grouped within their political parties.
- In the interest of safety...throwing candy, prizes, printed material, etc., is prohibited. Each entry must provide walkers to hand out such items. Walkers should only restock items when parade is idle to ensure saftey.
- Water balloons or spraying of water is prohibited.
- Walking entries are welcomed and must also be decorated in patriotic or parade theme.
- This is a family friendly event. No profanity, offensive signs or behavior will be tolerated.
- Please try to keep within two car lengths, or 30 to 40 feet, of the entry in front of you. Please try to avoid
large gaps between entries.
- Entry with children under 18 years old must have adult supervision, driver is not a valid supervisor.
- In the event the parade is canceled due to unforseen circumstances, parade entry fees will not be refunded.
In the event of rain, we will have 2 thirty minute delays.
- Noncompliance of any rules may result in forfeiture of future events.
Waiver:
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the July 4th committee from claims for personal injury, property damage, administrative penalties, fees, fines or costs caused, directly or indirectly, by the distribution, or propulsion, of candy, water or promotional objects or literature from my entry as well as from property damage or personal injury, administrative penalties, fee, fines or costs caused, directly or indirectly, by any motor vehicle or object towed by any motor vehicle, as my entry. The committee reserves the rights to restrict, or reject parade entrants.
