  • Tennessee Metro Policy and Procedure.

    a) The name of this mission endeavor shall be called "TN Metro" A metro area shall be one of the five recognized metro areas in Tennessee. (Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, & Tri Cities) b) An area can only be approved as a TN Metro project by the Tennessee North American Missions (TNAM) Department and the Tennessee District Board.

    2. Purpose: a) To establish churches in Metropolitan areas of Tennessee. b) To secure financial assistance for the implementation and development of churches in the Metropolitan areas of Tennessee.

    a) TNAM shall administrate TN Metro Program (with final approval from Tennessee District Board) b) The Tennessee Executive NAM Board is to review annually the progress of each TN Metro Church Planter and make suggestions to maximize the ministries effectiveness c) Once on site, The TN Metro Church Planter will be directly responsible and accountable to the Tennessee District Board.

    NOTE: Complete the application fully, answering all questions to the best of your ability. Unanswered questions will delay consideration. The application will not be processed without a photograph of you and your family, the appropriate signatures, ministry plan, and credit report (if requested

    Schedule a one on one meeting with TNAM Director Obtain TNAM Status prior to making application as a TN Metro Church Planter Have ministry experience, and it is recommended that applicant have some church planting experience. Be a proven soul winner and disciple maker. Be financially solvent, fiscally responsible, and submit a credit report. Have a Pastor. Have a mentor, or be willing to have one assigned. Have a general license with the UPCI. Attend LAUNCH in St. Louis either before or after approval.

  • A. All applications are to be submitted before District Conference or the Fall Board meeting each year.

    B. No application will be considered from any applicant who is not a legal citizen or resident of the United States.

    C. Before applicant is presented to the Tennessee District Board for approval he must receive approval from the Tennessee NAM Executive Committee, as TNAM Church Planter (See appendix A for a list of documents required to meet Tennessee NAM Executive Committee)

    D. Final appointment as a TN Metro Church Planter shall be the action of the Tennessee District Board.

    6. Duties and responsibilities of the TN Metro Church Planter: A. The Church Planter's purpose is to build and establish a congregation in their designated metro area. An annual performance evaluation will be performed by the TN Metro Committee

    B. The Church Planter shall raise his support by the soliciting of monthly commitments under the TN Metro Church banner. (A division under the TNAM department)

    C. The Church Planter shall consistently give full service to the stewardship for which he is commissioned. He may take time away from the new church to attend district meetings, to have annual vacation time, and have one week for General Conference. He will SO arrange his schedule that he will not be away from his church two consecutive weekends.

    D. He shall complete and send monthly reports to the TNAM Director. The TNAM director shall forward these monthly reports to the district office.

    E. Nothing in this policy shall inhibit, change, or limit the power or right of the district superintendent and district board from approving qualified ministers to start new churches in any city in the district. This includes metro areas.

    F. The Church Planter shall live in the metro area where he is planting a church.

    G. A Church Planter must plant a church within the city for which he was appointed a metro Church Planter. Any exception to this must have written permission of the Tennessee District Board and the Tennessee Executive NAM Committee.

    H. The metro church plant must be affiliated with United Pentecostal Church International.

    I. Failure to meet these requirements will result in personal contact from the Tennessee NAM director. Continued failure to comply with rules and guidelines can result in the withholding of the funds with possible termination from the TN Metro program.

  • J. The TN Metro Church Planter is accountable to Tennessee NAM Directives related to all NAM Missionaries, metro or otherwise. They are accountable as any other District Minister to the Tennessee District Board.

    A. The Church Planter shall not move on location until TNAM status is approved.

    B. The Church Planter term shall be for five years with the yearly evaluation by the TNAM Director.

    C. As a significant financial investment will have been made by the Tennessee District UPCI, it is requested by TNAM Department that the Metro Church Plant never be moved outside the approved metro area.

    8. Church Planter Scheduling: A. The NAM Director of Tennessee shall coordinate a deputation schedule for the TN Metro Church Planter.

    B. The Church Planter shall confirm and maintain his schedule and services through the NAM Director of Tennessee

    C. The Church Planter shall be responsible to communicate with pastors of churches he is scheduled to visit well in advance of his arrival.

    A. The budget for the TN Metro Church Planter shall be determined by the NAM Director and the Church Planter.

    B. All funds raised are for the establishment of a United Pentecostal Church. TNAM Executive

    Committee will oversee and administrate said funds. Request for financial assistance beyond the monthly allocation must be made in writing and shall be considered by the TN Metro Committee for approval.

    C. Monthly commitments raised by the Church Planter for his budget shall be sent by the contributing churches to the Tennessee District Office for distribution. When individuals make contributions that attend other churches there shall be full disclosure to the Pastor by the TN Metro Church Planter.

    D. It is strongly recommended that the metro applicant, during the time his application is being processed, pay off any outstanding consumer debts. If the applicant owns a home it may be necessary to make arrangements to sell or rent the home after they are approved and prior to going on site.

  • E. His support after appointment and before his term begins shall come from free will offerings received while raising partners. He shall provide the contributor and the NAM Director with a receipt for each offering. F. Budgeted funds will be released to the Church Planter upon his request as TN Metro G. In case of termination of the Church Planter, said funds may be re-allocated by TNAM Executive Board to another Metro Church Planter in Tennessee, and all sponsors of said Church Planter shall be notified immediately.

    A Completed TN Metro Application (submitted JOT Form or emailed)

    Four letters of reference from: Current Pastor

    District Superintendent Employment Supervisor (if applicable) Ministerial Friend

    Upon approval the TNAM Director and TN Metro Church Planter shall create a proposed budget to fund said Church Plant in the targeted Metro area.

    Documentation of ministerial credentials, education, and ministerial experience.

    All financial records requested by the TNAM Executive Committee.
