The Rules
1. Duos or groups may submit a video recording of original music and lyrics from any genre for consideration. Each entry will be reviewed for content by a team of jurors from the JMKAC community. Top bands will be selected to perform at Get the Gig on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Paradigm Coffee and Music.
2. All members of the band must be available Thursday, May 14, 2026, 3:00–9:00 p.m. and have a 30-minute (all-ages appropriate) set prepared.
3. Entry forms will be reviewed, and top bands will be notified by April 7, 2026. The top bands selected to compete in the Get the Gig contest will receive an honorarium of $200.
4. The winner, as determined by the audience and JMKAC staff, will receive a contracted, paid performance agreement for a 50-minute opening set during the Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series on a mutually agreed-upon date between June 18-September 19. Mutually agreed-upon date means that some concert dates may not be available: the agreed-upon date must align with Get the Gig winners’ availability and openings in the Levitt AMP schedule at the time of Get the Gig. The Levitt AMP concert series runs Thursday evenings June 25–August 13 (with the exception of Saturday–Sunday, July 18–19, which replaces Thursday, July 16) from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Another Levitt AMP concert will take place the afternoon of Saturday, September 19, for our Wayside Days festival (more details to come).
5. All copyright laws and FCC regulations pertaining to the broadcast of audio and video will be used to determine approval of band video for submission and subsequent presentation.
6. Songs presented for submission must be original lyrics and music written by the band and legally released for play on JMKAC’s website and social media pages.
7. All bands and performing duos considered for submission may not be under contract with a major label, although bands signed with a local or indie label or having limited distribution channels may still be considered.
8. Entry Forms and Digital Music Agreements must be submitted and signed before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Band Submission Guidelines
Step 1: Read the complete contest rules (listed above) and fill out the this entry form. You will need to upload information, video, and photo(s), as well as agree to terms in order to submit.
Step 2: Once your Entry Form is submitted, the main contact of your group will receive the Digital Music Agreement via email from DocuSign. The agreement must be signed and sent back before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Your main contact will receive an email confirmation once all steps have been completed.
