About Central Baptist Church
The ministry of Central Baptist Church is grounded in the life, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and return of Jesus Christ. As a historic urban African-American Baptist church, Central's appoach to kingdom building is biblically-based and holistic. Central faithfully serves humankind and develops disciples spirtually, physicaly, emotionally, culturally, socially and financially.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Central Baptist Church Book Stipend Award
To be completed by students who are continuing their college education. The Central Baptist Church Scholarship and Financial Aid Fund was established to provide financial assistance to any college undergraduate who is pursuing or continuing to pursue an undergraduate or trade/vocational education. Financial aid awards are recommended by the Financial Aid and Continuing Education (FACE) Ministry, and are based on the availability of funds. The application must be submitted by April 30, 2024. Dr. Alice C. Price Scholarship
Presented by the Women of Central Ministry in honor of Dr. Alice C. Price, this scholarship is available to Central Baptist Church disciples who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university institution majoring in education.
CRITERIA:
- Must have been out of high school at least one year
- Must have connected to a faith organization, campus ministry, or church
- Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Must be pursuing first undergraduate degree
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Short interview during the week of May 2024
- Resume (listing major, anticipated date of graduation, jobs and internships, awards, recognitions, and otherprofessional accomplishments
- Photograph
- If applying for the Dr. Alice C. Price Scholarship, compose an essay that addresses each of the following questions:
- Why is education important in society?
- As an educator, what kind of impact do you feel you can make in your community?
- Must upload an unofficial copy of transcript with current grades before application deadline. An official transcript must be mailed to the Central Baptist Church Office at 2845 Washington Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63103; Attention: Khadija Tejan. The envelope must be postmarked by April 30, 2024. Electronic transcripts are acceptable as long as they come from a secure transcript vendor such as The National Student Clearinghouse, University Registrar, etc. Transcripts will also be accepted via emailed if directly sent from a school official.
