EPD will award up to four $500 college scholarships to junior tennis players who are graduating high school in 2024 and are preparing to enter their freshman year of college.

The deadline for submission of the scholarship application and supporting information must be electronically submitted by May 20, 2024.
During this application, you will be asked to upload supporting information (Essay and Recommendation). If you cannot upload the supporting information digitally, please contact us at communications@ms.usta.com, and we'll arrange another way for you to submit the info.

Applicants receiving full grant and aid scholarships for tennis from their respective schools (or other sources) are not eligible for an EPD scholarship.

Applicants must have participated in United States Tennis Association (USTA) and/or other organized youth tennis programs.

Recipients will be notified of acceptance via email and phone call, and will be required to return an official acceptance form with information regarding the college they are attending, including a head shot photo to be used for publicity.

Recipients of the EPD scholarship are expected to be enrolled as full-time, undergraduate students — as defined by the institution. USTA will confirm the student's attendance at the college/university.

Recipients of the EPD scholarship will be expected to participate on the tennis team, intramural program or any other college tennis program during their freshman year. If recipients are no longer playing tennis, 20 hours of tennis-related community service will also be accepted.
Description of Scholarship:
- Applicant must be a 2024 high school graduate who showed achievements in leadership. This individual should have participated extensively and demonstrated sportsmanship in an organized community or school tennis program.
- Telephone and/or in-person interviews may be conducted as part of the EPD final selection process.
- The scholarship will be a one-time award.
Submit the following materials to substantiate the application process:
- A typed recommendation (could be from the applicant's current tennis coach/program director, or someone else close to the applicant). This recommendation may be electronically uploaded into this application.
- A typed essay explaining how the applicant's participation in a tennis program has impacted his/her life. it should include, but not limited to, volunteer services, tennis-related activities, other activities, etc.
- This electronic application must be signed by the applicant and parent/guardian.
