SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Eligible applicants are Liberian nationals who submit the required documents and have been vetted and approved by participating higher institutions.
1. All scholarship recipients must study in one of the following degree programs:
- Associate Degree Program in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education
- Bachelor’s Degree Program in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education
2. In the 2024/25 academic year, scholarship recipients must be in one of the following categories:
- Newly admitted student in the first year of an associate degree program in early childhood education or primary education
- Student newly admitted to the junior year of a bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education or primary education.
- Newly admitted student transferring into the junior year from another academic institution
3. Scholarship recipients must be Liberian citizens.
4. Scholarship recipients should be the age of 50 and below at the time of application for the first semester of a TESTS scholarship.
5. Scholarship recipients must not have a scholarship covering tuition and mandatory fees from another source.
6. Applicants must have passed at least five subjects including English and Math in the WAEC/WASSCE.
Note: Students with disabilities are not required to pass Math in the WAEC/WASSCE.
INSTRUCTIONS
ALL applicants are required to submit the following documents for the application to be considered complete:
- A consent form affirming that university/school records can be released for the scholarship committee to review
- An application form
- One passport-sized photo with a white background
- A photocopy of one of the following: voter’s ID, national ID card, passport, birth certificate, or driver’s license.
- Personal Statement detailing how the program of study will enable you to positively contribute to the improvement of the educational system of Liberia. The essay should be a minimum of 500 words, 2-3 pages long, single-spaced, using Arial or Time New Roman 12-point font.
Students entering an Associate Degree Program must submit the documents listed on page 1 AND the following:
- A letter of admission to their early childhood or primary education program at their participating institution.
- Copy of WAEC/WASSCE certificate (pass at least five subjects, including English and Math. Students with disabilities are not required to pass Math in the WAEC/WASSCE)
- Official transcript indicating a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5
- A letter of attestation from your institution confirming you are a junior year student and confirming your ability to complete the program within 2 years
Students transferring into a Bachelor’s Degree Program (Transfer Students) must submit the documents listed on page 1 AND the following:
- Official grade sheet indicating a minimum grade point average of 2.5
- Copy of an associate degree certificate (where applicable).
- Admission letter from their respective participating institution.
