City of Redondo Beach Logo Redesign Competition

The City of Redondo Beach is redesigning its logo!

The City is inviting community members, artists and logo enthusiasts to submit designs to refresh the City logo that can be used for both small print, digital, and large-format signage purposes. The goal is to create a unified brand that can be replicated and expanded across various platforms through a set of images, graphics, and visual style to represent the City of Redondo Beach consistently as an organization and as a community.

All artists and experience levels are encouraged to apply, including self-taught, amateur, professionals and artistic and educational institutions.

Artists under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian provide legal consent as part of the submission.

Artists are NOT required to be a resident of Redondo Beach.

There is no limit to how many submissions you have!

I hereby give permission to the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) to use the artwork named in the following section and attached to this electronic submission, for the Redondo Beach Logo Redesign Competition (“Competition”), which use may include, but not be limited to the fabrication, illustration, publication, marketing, and promotional use of a designed logo.

I represent and warrant to City the following:

1. I hereby donate the artwork to the City for the purpose described herein and that no compensation, goods or services were received in exchange for this donation.

2. I have good and marketable title to the artwork.

3. I have not entered into any agreement that would restrict my right to transfer ownership of the artwork, and that I have not granted any license or other right to use the artwork to any third party.

4. The artwork submitted is my original work and does not infringe on any intellectual property rights of any third party, including but not limited to, copyright infringement.

5. I have the right to submit the artwork for the Competition and that it has not been previously published or exhibited.

6. The artwork has not been accepted for sale, and is free and clear of any liens, encumbrances, or clams of any nature.

I acknowledge that the artwork will be reviewed by the Competition judges and may be displayed in various media, including but not limited to, television, radio, newspaper, magazine, and social media platforms. I agree that my artwork may be reproduced in any form by the City, at its discretion.

I hereby release and discharge the City, its officials, officers, employees, and agents (collectively “Indemnitees”) from any and all claims, demands, or causes or action arising from or related to the use of the artwork described herein. I further agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Indemnitees from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from or relating to the use of the artwork by Indemnitees. This indemnification shall survive the sale or transfer of the artwork and shall continue in full force and effect thereunder.

I accept that the winning entry will be selected by a panel of City-selected judges. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the City. I acknowledge that in the event of a disagreement, the Competition judges’ decisions are final.
