In response to collective pressure from MEAA members in 2022, Nine management developed a freelance policy for the first time which included minimum rates, kill fees, and timeliness of pay. While this is a huge win, this policy is still a long way from a signed and enforceable agreement with freelancers that shows us the respect we deserve. This year we have an important opportunity to put the pressure back on management to win a fair agreement that gives us a say in how we are engaged.
