  • Before Start Up

  • 2. Check all fluid levels are correct (including coolant) in accordance with manufacturers instructions?
  • 3. Are there any fluid leaks (incl pipes and hoses)?
  • 4. Check boom/dipper/dozer frame for cracks and pin wear?
  • 5. Check tracks and rollers in good condition, not excessively worn and correctly adjusted?
  • 6. Check bucket teeth/dozer blade in good condition?
  • 7. Are all access steps and/or ladders etc in good condition and free from build-up of material?
  • 8. Is all cab glass in good order, free from damage and suitably clean inside and out
  • 9. Seat belts in good condition and working correctly, seatbelt verification lights - where fitted - working (NB seat belts must be correctly worn whenever the equipment is in use)
  • 10. Is the operators seat in good condition and are suspension seats fully working and correctly adjusted
  • 11. Is the cab floor clear of any objects that might move around during use (eg tools, food or drink containers etc, these should only be carried if they can be securely stored)?
  • 12. Is the cab clean and free from excessive dust and dirt?

  • After Start Up Before Moving Off

  • 13. Check all round visibility aids working correctly (eg mirrors, CCTV, radar devices, etc)
  • 14. Check vehicle lights all in good condition and working correctly
  • 15. Is the reverse warning alarm working correctly?
  • 16. Are the machine's monitoring systems functioning correctly?
  • 17. Is the air conditioning (where fitted) functioning correctly (even in cooler conditions, this can reduce condensation on cab glass).?
  • 18. Is the horn functioning correctly?

  • After Moving Off

  • 19. Check digging operation correct?
  • 20. Check tracking and slewing operation correct?

  • During Operation

  • 21. Monitor for fluid leaks, unusual smells, noises etc
  • 22. Grease in accordance with manufacturers instructions
  • 23. Where fitted is the quick hitch in good operational condition and functioning correctly
  • 24. Are quick hitch accessories in good order (eg, peck, forks, etc)
