    We are pleased to announce that the Maryland Workers' Compensation Educational Association (MWCEA) is now accepting nominations for the Alfred M. Porth Memorial Award. Established in 2001, this prestigious award honors select members of the workers' compensation community who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the fair and honest administration of the Maryland workers' compensation system.

     The award is named in memory of Alfred M. Porth, a respected figure in the field, and it recognizes those who embody his dedication, integrity, and service to the community. Past recipients have included judges, attorneys, and other professionals who have made significant contributions to improving the system and advocating for fair treatment of all parties involved. 
     
    We encourage you to nominate deserving individuals who have made a notable impact in the workers' compensation field. All nominations must be submitted by Thursday, April 30, 2026.

    Please include detailed information about the nominee's contributions and why they deserve this honor.

    1. Nominee's service to MWCEA (includes but not limited to board service, speaker at MWCEA meetings/lunches, engaged member, helped to enhance the overall MWCEA brand, etc.

    2. How the nominee has earned peer recognition and through their years of work has strengthened the overall association foundation professional community.

    3. List nominee’s leadership roles with MWCEA as well as other areas of related professional organization volunteer service.
