Junk Removal Technician Purpose:
Be a high-energy, dependable and productive member of the JDog team performing efficient and profitable daily operations for junk removal and light demolition services within clearly defined geographical areas. Safely operate and perform preventative maintenance programs for junk removal vehicles and trailers. Assist JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Clarkston in sales, and marketing activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (On the Job training will be done to JDog Standards):
GENERAL OPERATIONS
- Accept and execute varying crew assignments and duties as provided by Operations Chief or Owner
- Safely execute removal of customer's items preventing damage to their remaining property
- Safely perform light demolition services. Examples include removal of sheds, decks, hot tubs, and interior finishes including cabinets, fixtures, baths, flooring, wall and ceiling finishes
- Execute safe truck/trailer operations including courteous and defensive driving, and situational awareness around all operations
- Preview job location for travel route, travel time, and vehicle staging
- Equip trucks and trailers with necessary tools for daily assignments
- Pre and post trip vehicle checks. End of shift checklist completion. Assist in refueling, restocking, and repairing. Prepare loads for following shift (dump/recycle/storage/consolidate). Report issues to Operations Chief.
- Assist in management of vehicle logistics, ie. efficient route planning, load/offload plan at donation centers, recyclers, storage and waste facilities
- Use Customer Relations Management software (Housecall Pro and Corrigo [on the job training provided])
· Communicate with customers via text/email and phone
· Document job details including before/after photos, appropriate job info tags, and update job description if tasks were added by customer
· Create estimates and obtain signatures, create invoices, take various forms of payment and send receipts
· Apply Veteran and coupon discounts situationally
- Manage efficient recycling and waste disposal following applicable regulations and laws
JOB SITE Activities
- Introduce yourself and crew to customers, and conduct walkthrough. Identify and note existing damage, document with photos. Identify potential hazards where property damage may take place and execute precautions. (floor mats, padding, disassembly for easier carries)
- Note time of job beginning/ending for additional labor surcharge if indicated by job scope
- Take before and after photos in areas of removal
- Execute efficient plan for loading considering offload logistics
- Provide memorable value to customers that generate referrals
- Sweep hard surface floors where removal occured
- Offer to vacuum or move other furniture within reason
- Determine other services that we can provide or refer, ask customer if one of our preferred providers can contact them
- Place yard signs if permitted (record location), and distribute door hangers as time allows
- Show respect for items the customer wishes to be donated. Record if a donation receipt is requested for follow-up
- Conduct final project sweep with customer to ensure job is complete to standard, and ensure tools/equipment are recovered
- Smoking indoors or in view of customer is prohibited. Leave no butts.
- Limit personal phone calls while working on job site
- Refrain from "shopping" (or personally claiming) the items that are to be removed while on the job site. Any item desired for personal gain must be cleared by Owner.
- Have fun, maintain positive attitude. Clean and respectful banter is encouraged!
- Report injuries immediately. Identify personal strengths and weaknesses and manage accordingly to prevent further injury and/or property damage.
- Use safety equipment as required. Gloves, and boots for carrying. Protective eyewear for striking/grinding/cutting. Hearing protection for sustained activities over 85dB.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Military Veteran (honorably discharged), current Armed Forces Servicemember, or like-minded individual with proven record of excellence in service environments.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Be able to lift 75 pounds; ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend, crouch and crawl
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent and have NO felony convictions
- Leadership/supervisory skills desired
