Exhibits will be received at the Heritage Tent, inside Fairgrounds by Gate 2 on the following dates only:
Saturday, September 7 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday, September 10 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Due to limited space and time, Registration Forms must be completed prior to arriving.
Exhibits will be released to Entrant no sooner than 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15 at the Heritage Tent. Earlier release is not permitted unless weather or other circumstances have altered the hours of the Fair. Entrants must pay Fair entry if arriving prior to close of Fair.
Items not picked up by 7:00 p.m. on Sunday will be transferred to the IOW County Parks and Recreation office at 13036 Nike Park Rd., Carrollton, VA 23314 and will be made available for pickup Wednesday, September 18. Contact Parks and Recreation at 757-357-2291 for coordination.
- All work must be original content by entrant. No watermarks or signatures may be displayed.
- No entry fees will be charged for your item, but all exhibitors must pay to enter the fair.
- Each exhibitor is limited to three (3) entries per class, and entries must be created by entrant within the past 3 years. Entry will not be accepted if it has been entered in a previous IOW County Fair year.
- Photographs can be printed on canvas, affixed on photo mounting boards, or in light weight frames. Photo size is to be 5x7 or 8x10. Entire entry is not to exceed 12x18. Do not label the front of any exhibit.
- Exhibitors will receive entry tag stub at the time of entry drop off.
- All entries will be displayed and judged per the Registration Form as filled out by the Registrant.
- Professionally stamped or watermarked entries will not be accepted.
- The Heritage Committee will setup all exhibits. No exhibitor will be allowed to set up, handle, or rearrange their entry. Notes may be left to Committee on proper orientation of photos.
- The judge's decision is FINAL. Photography judging is based on the following per Division expectations: Overall Impression, Technique, Subject Matter.
- Ribbons are awarded by a point system; 1 entry in a class does not necessitate a first place award. Please ask a chairman for further information on the judge’s notes and guidelines.
Entries may be disqualified/not judged/not displayed if: there are any self-identifying characteristics displayed on the front of exhibit or if any of the above rules are not adhered to.
No Photos of print, or other copyrighted imagery will be excepted.
Please note: The Heritage Arts, Crafts, and Food Tent is drafty and damp. Artwork is subject to fade, color change, and warping. The Fair assumes no responsibility in case of loss, theft, damage due to environmental reasons. The Fair will take every possible precaution to protect exhibits. Fair volunteers will be monitoring the Heritage Tent and its entries during fair operating hours. Entrants may purchase insurance on their items at their own discretion.
