The City of Greensboro is currently developing the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget. Help us plan by telling us what you think about City services, and the overall quality of life in Greensboro.

General Service Levels and Spending

Strategic Priorities

All cities across the country have limited resources and need to allocate them according to determined priorities. This series of questions is designed to gather your input regarding Greensboro’s budget priorities.
Safest City – This priority is about keeping people healthy, safe, and secure. This includes physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, financial, and environmental safety. The City will prevent harm. Residents will feel safe in their homes and neighborhoods, when crossing or driving on City streets, and while doing business in any part of our City.Most Skilled Workforce – This priority is about connecting people to good jobs with a living wage. This includes training, new industries, and attracting talent. The City will nurture a remarkable workforce.Youth Sports Capital – This priority is about youth sports programs and facilities. This includes the experiences for kids, young adults, getting coaches and volunteers, money and sponsorship, participation, training, and communication. Building on our recent successes, the City will be a cheerleader for youth sports.Easiest Place to do Business - This priority is about streamlining the process for initiating and/or operating a business in our City. This includes rules and regulations, permitting, zoning, and financing. The City will remove barriers for developments, businesses, and new industries.Most Connected City – This priority is about transportation and technology in our City. Transportation means roads, rails, bike lanes, sidewalks, and trails. It means cars, buses, scooters, bikes and walking, as well as trains, planes, boats and beyond. Technology means fast internet, free Wi-Fi, and smart city tools. The City will make it easy to move around and connect.Hub of Recreation & Entertainment – This priority is about fun places to go in our City. This includes shows, arts and cultural exhibitions, sports games, museums, parks, and other fun spots. The City will fund the fun!Abundance of Attainable Housing – This priority is about having sufficient supply of affordable, quality housing for everyone in our City.
