The Université Paris Cité AIRE Master’s Degree is looking for students willing to accelerate the transitions of the 21st-century related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our interdisciplinary programme focuses on student-driven research-led projects combining deep theory and practice, collective design, international networking and exploring the unknown. This innovative learning experience provides a strong emphasis on empowering students to become independent thinkers and agents of change, better equipped to address the complex and rapidly changing challenges we face at individual, collective and planetary levels.
We value a solid background (academic achievements and projects) in any discipline (e.g., with interests in life sciences, learning sciences, and/or digital sciences) together with an analytical and creative mindset. All further experiences (volunteering, business, entrepreneurial, artistic, etc.) are greatly appreciated and valued.
Students will have the exciting opportunity of joining our evolving interdisciplinary programme and participate in the curriculum-design. The AIRE Master’s Degree is a national 2-year diploma of Université Paris Cité. The degree is part of the EURIP Graduate School which offers opportunities to continue your postgraduate studies with a 3-year PhD for selected applicants.

During the second year of the Master's program, students are required to complete 9 months of full-time internships, which may be divided into two or three different internships.
Alternatively, students have the option to pursue an apprenticeship, a different type of contract in which they remain with the same organization for the entire year. Apprenticeships are facilitated by one of our partners, the CFA AFIA. For more information about this option, please visit their website at https://www.cfa-afia.com/.
Additionally, students have the option to undertake a personal project, such as conducting research, starting a non-profit organization, or creating a start-up.
Students may choose either option but cannot change their status during the academic year (e.g., switch from internship to apprenticeship).
Please list three organizations (institutions, companies, NGOs, non-profits, public or private laboratories, public services, etc.) where you would be interested in completing an internship or other forms of work experience, private endeavor, or personal project during your Masters at the LPI.
This list is not final, and you may change it later during the year. Its purpose is to help us understand your interests and assist you in your choices.
Please elaborate on the areas you have identified where research is needed to improve the implementation of the SDGs?
Please share three influential books, documentaries, articles, movies, performances, or other forms of media that have significantly inspired or shaped your academic and professional interests, and explain how they have impacted your perspective and aspirations.
About Interdisciplinarity
About the AIRE program
Once admission to the master's program is confirmed, you must proceed with registration at Université Paris Cité. Tuition fees are determined annually by Université Paris Cité. For the academic year 2024-2025, it has been decided to maintain the tuition fees for international students at the same level as those for French and European students. Please note that the exact fees are yet to be determined, and additional CVEC fees will apply. This policy applies to students who have not interrupted their studies for more than 2 years.
Our program can provide a very limited number of excellence scholarships (EURIP and Liliane Bettencourt Excellence fellowships), which will be awarded after the interviews on the basis of Academic Excellence. We hightly encourage applicants to look for other types of scholarships to ensure their funding.
It is really important for you to have a funding plan for your stay in Paris so as to study in good conditions. You will need a minimum of 1200€ per month to live decently in Paris, provided you stay at a university residency (refer to our FAQ for details). Depending on your project, we can help you with advice or reference letters that can be useful for you to get a scholarship, student housing, etc.
Please note that due to mandatory attendance and participation in courses, seminars, and projects scheduled from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, holding a part-time job is not feasible.
