Instructions:
Registration Period: Registration opens on February 29th and closes on April 1st. Make sure to register within this period.
Eligibility: The hackathon is open to high school students who are at least in their sophomore year.
Registration Form: Fill out the registration form with your personal and school information. You’ll be asked about your sports interests, favorite music artist and genre, and whether you hope to study Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science in college.
Preparation: After registration, prepare for the hackathon by watching the instructional videos available on April 13th through 14th and April 20th through 21st. Complete all 10 videos and quizzes during these weeks.
Office Hours: Attend at least two office hours held by a Cal Poly student. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get guidance.
Hackathon: The hackathon competition will take place on April 27th to April 28th. Use this opportunity to apply what you’ve learned and create interesting data visualizations.
Remember, in order to be eligible to compete in the data science hackathon, you must complete all the videos and quizzes and attend at least two office hours. Good luck with your preparation and participation in the hackathon! We’re excited to see what you’ll create.
