YEAR 7 APPEALS
Before completing your appeal form, please take some time to read these notes:
Darrick Wood School is a popular school and receives on average 1,000 applications for the 260 Year 7 secondary transfer places available and is oversubscribed with in-year applications for each year group.
In order to ensure equal opportunity all applicants are considered under our published admissions policy, after the admittance of children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) where the school is named in Section I of their EHCP.

ii) Siblings of pupils in school at the proposed entry
iii) Children of Staff at the school
iv) Proximity - Living close to the school based on a straight-line distance

Our Clerk will advise you of the date and time of your appeal and will be your point of contact for any questions once your appeal has been received. You will be notified of the date and time of your appeal at least 2 weeks before your hearing, and at least 7 days before the appeal you will receive a statement outlining the reason why your child was not offered a place at the school.
Please note that Parents/Carers can have their appeal hearing via Video Conferencing or a Telephone Conference or via their written submission.
