The implementation of the EU Strategy for data will catalyse a digital shift, fostering the widespread adoption of multiple Data Spaces throughout Europe. In this context, GREAT project has had the aim of establishing the Green Deal Data Space Foundation and its Community of Practice which builds on both the European Green Deal and, useless to say, the aforementioned EU’s Strategy for Data.
At the same time, the water community has clearly highlighted the importance of data to implement the so-called Water-Smart Society by including Digital Water as a key pillar of its model.
In this context, a group of entities, part of Water Europe, FIWARE Foundation and Big Data Value Association, joined forces with WATERVERSE and GREAT projects to organise an online workshop ”From the GREAT and WATERVERSE experience to future Water Data Spaces” on 16 April 2024 from 9:00 to 12:00 CEST.
WATERVERSE aims at releasing methodologies and tools to support data management in water sector to enable the implementation of future Water Data Space by also contributing to the relevant initiatives around data sharing and standardisation from a water data perspective.
The online workshop is just the first of a series that want to analyze and put together the perspectives of the two projects by adding specific water related inputs to a more Green Deal wide view, thanks to the active participation of stakeholders of different communities (i.e. Water Europe, FIWARE Foundation, Big Data Value Association, ICT4Water).
The workshop’s agenda will feature an introduction to the GREAT project, an in-depth look at WATERVERSE’s objectives and methodologies, and a collaborative session to identify synergies and complementarities between the two initiatives. An open discussion invited participants to delve deeper into the specifics of requirements and specifications, culminating in a concise outline of conclusions and forthcoming actions."
