To celebrate its sixth publication anniversary, The Shallow Tales Review is bringing 18 African creatives and critics to read at this year's event.
“Reading Shallow Tales” V took place on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, and hosted key readers such as the writer and academic, Ainehi Edoro-Glines (keynote); Abu Bakr Sadiq, amu nnadi, Cynthia Dozie-Onwusoh, Erere Onyeugbo, Evaleni Lawson, Ever Obi, Ifeanyichukwu Eze, Iris Mwanza, Ismail Bala, Itiola S. Jones, Izehi Amadasu, Mubanga Kalimamukwento, Naza Amaeze Okoli, Obiageli A. Iloakasia, Olubunmi Familoni, Tade Ipadeola, and Tope Larayetan-Alofe.
This year's event takes place on Saturday March 14th, 2026 and features a stunning cast of readers across the continent including João Melo, Megan Natasha Ross, Sue Nyathi, Joshua Lubwama, Tolu Daniel, Zukiswa Wanner, Naomi Eselojor, Yejide Kilanko, Sabah Carrim, Phodiso Modirwa, Esther Ifesinachi Okonkwo, Simbarashe Steyn Kundizeza, Delight Ejiaka, Okwudili Nebeolisa, Christopher Armoh, Gloria Mwaniga Odary, and Brian Chikwava.
The keynote address will be given by award-winning writer and publisher of Griots Lounge Publishing, Bibi Ukonu.
