    What We're Looking For

    • Willingness to be an ambassador for the Fellowship on campus and beyond.
    • Ability to commit to serving 450 service hours (12-15 hours per week).

    What You Would Serve

    • The Allan Hancock College Corps Fellowaship will go from August 2024-May 2025.

    What You Would Do

    Fellows will work within organizations focusing in areas of K-12 schools, Food Insecurity or Climate Action to build healthier and more equitable communities across California. They will do this in a variety of ways. Some examples include:

    • Conducting outreach and educational initiatives for climate action organizations;
    • Contributing to and assisting basic-needs organizations;
    • Engaging with local schools to facilitate after-school activities, such as athletics and tutoring programs;
    • Stocking and distriubuting food for local families dependent on food banks and pantries.


    What You'll Gain: Benefits

    • A living allowance paid monthly throughout service term, plus an Education Award paid upon completion of 450 service hours. Total financial benefit up to $10,000;

    • Please review the following statement to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria to become a College Corps Fellow. You will be asked to check each box and initial, certifying that you meet the eligibility criteria for parts A-C.

      Should you have any inquiries regarding your eligibility status, feel free to reach out to Frankie Maldonado, College Corps Program Specialist, via email at frankie.maldonado@hancockcollege.edu. Frankie will assist in confirming your eligibility. Please note that an eligibility review will precede students' progrssion to next stage of application process. 

    • Minimum Eligibility Criteria

      Part A.

      To participate, students must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:

      • Have a high school diploma or its equivalent (i.e., GED) by the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year;
      • Enrolled full-time (Typically 12 Units), undergraduate student attending Allan Hancock College;
      • Currently be in good academic standing and remain so throughout the academic year (no minimum GPA required);
      • Commit to actively participate in the program and to maintain full-time enrollment status for the entire academic year (August 2024-May 2025);
      • Not planning to participate in a semester off-campus (study-abroad) during the upcoming academic year;
      • Commit to serving 450 hours over the course of the entire academic year- averaging 12-15 hours per week.

      To successfully complete your College Corps Fellowship, students must:

      • Complete a National Service Criminal History Check & Live Scan, as part of the enrollment process. (AB-540 students will not need to complete this requirement unless their community host partner requires it);
      • Complete 450 hours of service by June 1, 2025. To reach this goal, students in the College Corps Program must commit to:
        • Consistently serve an average of 12-15 hours per week throughout the entire academic year;
        • Start the program on August 5, 2024;
      • Participate fully in required pre-service orienation, trainings, and learning sessions;
        • Tentative orientation dates: July 29, 2024 - August 2, 2024
      • Abide by Allan Hancock Colleges Student Code of Conduct.
