2024 CSM Gary Coates, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Part of the mission of the Alaina Coates FAAM Foundation is to invest our time and resources to uplift and support communities. One of the ways in which we accomplish this objective is through our annual scholarship program.

The CSM Gary Coates, Sr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who demonstrates scholarship and service through community involvement, volunteerism, scholastic achievement, and extra-curricular participation.

Award: One high school student will be awarded $2,500.00 to be used towards their tuition costs at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Application Requirements:
- Application must be completed in its entirety and all accompanying documentation uploaded by 11:59pm EST on May 5, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the United States during the year of the award.
- Applicant must demonstrate community involvement in addition to scholastic achievement. **There is no GPA requirement for this award.
- One signed letter of recommendation from a non-family member. **You may scan and upload your signed letter of recommendation.
- A copy of your acceptance letter or proof of acceptance from the institution of higher learner you will attend.
- Most current high school transcript.
- A 300-500 word essay responding to the following: How will you use your education to make a positive impact in the community?
Notification: The scholarship recipient will be notified on or before May 31, 2024.
