Job Overview: As a Retail Sales Associate at The NW Dog, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers in finding the perfect products for their canine companions. You will be responsible for creating a positive and welcoming shopping experience for dog owners, offering product knowledge, and ensuring the boutique’s success through excellent salesmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
· Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
· Listen to customers’ needs and provide knowledgeable guidance on products that best suit their dogs’ requirements.
· Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
2. Product Knowledge:
· Stay informed about the latest trends in dog products, nutrition, and care. (Training provided by management)
· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the boutique’s inventory, including dog food, treats, toys, accessories, and other products.
· Provide detailed information about product features, benefits, and usage to assist customers in making informed decisions.
3. Sales:
· Actively engage customers to drive sales and meet sales targets.
· Upsell and cross-sell products based on customer needs and preferences.
· Maintain a neat and organized sales area, ensuring products are well-displayed and easily accessible.
4. Cash Handling:
· Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
· Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment in accordance with company policies.
5. Stock Management:
· Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise shipments.
· Monitor inventory levels monthly and communicate restocking needs to the management team.
· Ensure products are appropriately labeled with accurate pricing.
6. Store Maintenance:
· Contribute to the cleanliness and tidiness of the boutique, including dusting, sweeping, and organizing shelves.
· Assist in creating visually appealing displays to attract customer attention.
7. Team Collaboration:
· Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding customer feedback, inventory issues, and other relevant matters.
· Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve overall boutique goals.
8. Compliance:
· Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
· Stay informed about and follow regulations related to the sale of pet products.
Qualifications:
· Previous retail experience is preferred.
· Passion for dogs and a basic understanding of canine care.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
· Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds.
