In order to provide a safe environment for all riders, any volunteers that will be in direct contact with riders are required to have the following:
- Respect In Sport or Safe Sport certificate of completion
- Either a completed Vulnerable Sector Check or Disclosure Screening.
Respect In Sport or Safe Sport
The Resepct In Sport or Safe Sport modules are now required in the majority of youth sport organizations.
Vulnerable Sector Check (includes a Criminal Record Check)
Cochrane BMX will accept Vulnerable Sector Checks from other sport or school organizations from within the past year. Vulnerable Sector Checks can be obtained on a walk-in basis at the Cochrane RCMP station (Cochrane Residents) or your local police detachment. Proof of ID, physical residence & Volunteer letter is required. There is a $10 charge for volunteers.

Disclosure Screening Form
Cochrane BMX will accept a Disclosure Screening form in lieu of a Vulnerable Sector Check.

The ABA also requires that we have at least 1 certified First Aider and 1-3 licensed
Commissaires (track officials) present when hosting a district race.
