    Call for Submissions
  •

The Alberta Craft Council is excited to announce our call for entry for the upcoming Feature Gallery Exhibition Contemporary Weaving.

The traditions of weaving run deep and encompass many different materials and forms. Cultures from around the globe have incorporated woven objects into daily life as functional and expressive objects such as baskets, screens, cloth, and carpets. We are seeking contemporary examples of this ancient method of making. Your submission may draw on traditional inspiration or be experimental in technique or material. Submissions are not limited to traditional fibre media; we encourage artists working across all craft disciplines to apply.

The exhibition will take place from July 6 – October 19, 2024. Coordinating with events during Fibre Art Network’s, River City Conference, September 19 – 22, 2024 in Edmonton.
