INTRODUCTION: This iPad Usage Policy outlines the guidelines and expectations for employees who have been provided with company-owned iPads. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the appropriate use of iPads in a manner that supports business objectives while safeguarding company assets and data.
1. Acceptable Use:
- Company-provided iPads are intended for business-related activities only.
- Users must refrain from using iPads for personal activities that are unrelated to work, including but not limited to gaming, social media, and personal communication.
2. Data Security:
- Users are responsible for safeguarding company data stored on their assigned iPads.
- iPads must be kept secure at all times to prevent unauthorized access.
- Company data should not be stored on personal cloud storage accounts or transferred to unauthorized devices.
3. Software and Application Usage:
- Only company-approved software and applications should be installed on the iPad.
- Users must not download or install any unauthorized software that could compromise the security or integrity of the device or company data.
- Updates to operating systems and applications must be installed promptly to maintain security and performance.
4. Internet Usage:
- Users should access the internet through secure, company-approved networks whenever possible.
- Personal use of the internet on company iPads should be limited to necessary business-related activities.
- Users must not access or download content that is inappropriate or violates company policies on internet usage.
5. Reporting Security Incidents:
- Users must immediately report any lost or stolen iPads to the IT department.
- Suspected security breaches or incidents involving the unauthorized access or disclosure of company data must be reported promptly.
6. Device Care and Maintenance:
- Users are responsible for the physical care and maintenance of their assigned iPads.
- iPads should be kept clean and protected from damage, and any defects or issues should be reported to the IT department for resolution.
- Users will be issued the 1st set of charging cables. Any sub-sequential charging cords issued to the employee because the cords were lost the employee will be responsible for the cost of the replacement.
- Users who need their iPad replaced because the iPad was lost or damaged may be responsible for the cost of the replacement.
7. Compliance with Policies:
- Users are expected to comply with all company policies and guidelines related to iPad usage, including this policy, as well as other applicable policies such as those concerning data security and acceptable use.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT: By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the Company iPad Usage Policy and agree to comply with its provisions. I understand that violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
